The focusing lens of laser cutting machine is a more precise optical element, and its cleanliness directly affects the processing performance and quality of laser cutting machine. Since the optical lens in the laser system is consumable, the focus lens must be maintained regularly. In order to prolong the service life and reduce the use cost as much as possible, the lens must be cleaned strictly according to this specification. During replacement, attention shall be paid to the placement, detection and installation of optical lenses to protect them from damage and pollution. After installing a new lens, it should be cleaned regularly.

How to clean the protective mirror of the laser cutting machine?

How to clean the lens of the laser cutting machine?

1. The protective lens material is fragile zinc oxide (zinc oxide arsenic) which is not easy to fall off. Attention shall be paid during disassembly and assembly: do not use excessive force or collide with hard objects. There is an anti reflection film on the lens surface to avoid contamination, moisture, oil and scratches. Therefore, dry air is required when working, and do not touch the protective lens directly with your hands, because the grease on the skin will permanently damage the lens surface. You can wear gloves or special gloves for operation. For smaller lenses, it is more convenient to use optical tweezers or vacuum tweezers. No matter which method is used, we can only clamp the lens along the non optical surface, such as mirror edge grinding.

2. Generally, please check the protective mirror of the machine before use, before and after cleaning. Because most contaminants and surface defects are small, we often need to use magnification equipment to check lenses. In addition to the amplification equipment, sometimes we also need to use a bright beam to illuminate the optical surface to enhance the specular reflection of surface contaminants and defects, so as to find contaminants and defects more easily.

3. When cleaning the laser cutting machine to protect the lens, always use clean wiping paper and optical solvent to prevent damage from other pollutants. Wiping paper must be moistened with proper solvent and cannot be dried. Considering the softness, the available wiping paper is pure cotton mesh wiping paper or spreader, such as cotton ball, mirror paper, cotton swab, etc.

Of course, some pollutants and lens damage cannot be removed by cleaning, especially film burning caused by splashes and dirt. The only way to restore good performance is to replace the lens.
