One of the cutting technologies of laser cutting machine is cutting and punching. At present, the technology has two processing methods: sand blasting and pulse perforation. Different cutting and drilling methods have different effects. Therefore, it is necessary to fully understand these two drilling technologies before operating the cutting machine for drilling. Therefore, let's introduce these two piercing technologies in detail.

Laser cutting and perforation technology: Any thermal cutting technology, except for a few cases where it can start from the edge of the plate, must usually perforate a small hole in the plate. In the earlier laser punching compound machine, a punch was used to punch a hole, and then a laser was used to cut from the small hole. There are two basic methods for piercing laser cutting machines without punching devices:

(1) A pit is formed in the center of the orifice material irradiated by the continuous laser, and then the hole is formed by removing the molten material through the oxygen flow coaxial with the laser beam. Generally, the size of the hole is related to the thickness of the plate, and the average diameter of the sandblasting hole is half of the thickness of the plate. Therefore, the hole diameter of the sand blasting hole of the thicker plate is large and not round, so it is not suitable for parts with higher requirements (such as oil screen joint pipe), and can only be used for waste. In addition, because the oxygen pressure used for perforation is the same as that used for cutting, the spatter is large.

(2) Pulsed lasers with peak power are used to melt or vaporize small amounts of material. Air or nitrogen is often used as an auxiliary gas to reduce the hole expansion caused by exothermic oxidation, and the air pressure is less than that of oxygen during cutting. Each pulsed laser produces only a small beam of particles, which are then gradually deepened, so it takes a few seconds for a thick plate to be punctured. After the laser cutting machine completes the perforation, immediately use oxygen to replace the auxiliary gas for cutting. In this way, the hole diameter is smaller than the sandblasting hole and the hole quality is better. Lasers used for this purpose should not only have higher output power, but also have more important time-space characteristics,

Because the laser cutting machine selects different cutting and piercing methods, the cutting quality and effect are also different. Therefore, before operating the equipment for processing, more appropriate cutting and piercing technologies must be selected according to the customer's needs and actual use to improve the cutting and processing quality.
