The fiber laser cutting machine will have slagging when processing sheet metal, which will seriously affect the accuracy of the product and the appearance and customer's dissatisfaction. For many novice operators who have just contacted the laser industry, they do not know how to deal with the causes of material slagging caused by metal laser cutting machine processing.
The fiber laser cutting machine will generate a large amount of heat when processing the sheet metal. Under normal circumstances, the heat generated by cutting will spread along the cutting seam to the processed sheet metal for full cooling. During the processing of small holes by fiber laser cutting machine, the outside of the hole can be fully cooled, while the small hole part inside the single hole is too concentrated due to the small space where the heat can be diffused. In addition, during thick plate cutting, the molten metal accumulated on the material surface and the heat accumulation generated during the perforation will cause the auxiliary air flow to be disordered and the heat input to be too much, thus causing slag hanging. So, how to solve the problem of slag hanging on the optical fiber cutting machine?
1. The solution to the burning of the fiber laser cutting machine when cutting the small hole of carbon steel: in the carbon steel cutting with oxygen as the auxiliary gas (generally more than 6mm carbon steel), the key to solve the problem is how to suppress the generation of oxidation reaction heat. The method of auxiliary oxygen during perforation and lagging switch to auxiliary air or nitrogen for cutting can be adopted. This method can process small holes of 1/6 thick plate. The pulse cutting conditions with low frequency and high peak output power can reduce the heat output and help to optimize the cutting conditions. Setting the conditions as single pulse laser beam, high peak output of energy intensity and low frequency conditions can effectively reduce the accumulation of molten metal on the material surface during the perforation process and effectively inhibit the heat output.
2. Solution of optical fiber laser cutting machine in aluminum alloy and stainless steel cutting: in the processing of such materials, the auxiliary gas used is nitrogen or air, and the edge burning will not occur in the cutting. However, due to the high temperature of the material inside the small hole, the slagging phenomenon inside the hole will be more frequent. The effective solution is to increase the pressure of auxiliary gas, and set the condition as pulse condition with high peak output and low frequency. When the auxiliary gas is used with air, as with nitrogen, it will not overheat, but it is easy to hang slag at the bottom. It is necessary to set the conditions as pulse conditions with high auxiliary gas pressure, high peak output and low frequency.
