1、 Stainless steel laser cutting

Generally, nitrogen is used to cut stainless steel metal plates to prevent oxidation. There is no burr edge. It can be directly welded without post-treatment. According to the characteristics of stainless steel materials, it can accelerate the flow of liquid, making the cutting efficiency higher and faster. However, the effect of cutting with oxygen may be worse than that with nitrogen, resulting in black and unsmooth end faces.

2、 Carbon steel laser cutting

When laser cutting carbon steel, oxygen is generally used to obtain better results. While using oxygen reaction heat to improve cutting efficiency in large format, the oxide film produced will also improve the beam spectral absorption factor of the reflective material. When oxygen processing is used, there is a problem that the edge may be slightly oxidized. If users with strict requirements can use nitrogen for high-pressure cutting, of course, they can also paint oil on the workpiece surface to achieve better cutting effect.

3、 Aluminum laser cutting

Aluminum is a high reflective material in metal materials, which has high reflectivity and thermal conductivity. In recent years, many manufacturers' laser cutting machines have adapted to aluminum cutting by installing "anti reflection devices". The optical components of laser cutting machines without "anti reflection devices" have been damaged. At the same time, the thickness of aluminum cutting varies according to the power of the equipment. Generally speaking, the thickness of stainless steel and carbon steel cut by the same equipment is thicker than that of aluminum and other high resistivity materials. Aluminum is also more suitable for cutting with nitrogen, with good cutting effect and smooth end face.

4、 Laser cutting of copper and brass

Like aluminum, copper and brass are high reflective materials, which need to be cut by laser cutting machine with "anti reflection device". Brass with thickness less than 1mm can be cut with nitrogen; Copper with thickness less than 2mm can be cut.
