When the fiber laser cutting machine is in use, the cutting head will walk according to the set cutting path, but the height of the laser cutting head needs to be adjusted and controlled under different materials, different thicknesses and different cutting methods. The distance between the cutting nozzle and the surface of the cutting workpiece is one of the main factors that determine the cutting quality and cutting speed. In addition to selecting the appropriate cutting nozzle model and air pressure parameters according to the cutting situation, the height between the cutting head and the steel plate also needs to be appropriately increased or decreased according to the thickness of the cutting material. For steel plates with different thickness, different parameters shall be used, and the cutting nozzle shall be adjusted accordingly.

During the use of optical fiber laser cutting machine, in order to obtain high-quality cuts, the height from the cutting nozzle to the surface of the workpiece to be cut must be basically consistent. Because of the high speed of the laser cutting machine, the operator can not accurately control the operation mode with eyes and hands, and the reaction speed is definitely not achievable. In particular, it is very important to keep the cutting height stable when there are lines on the surface of the cutting sheet or material, the flatness is not high or the cutting environment is limited.

In order to make up for the inaccurate control of manual adjustment of cutting height, the current fiber laser cutting machines will be equipped with imported follow-up capacitor height adjuster. No matter how thick the plate is cut, the height can be kept consistent with the capacitive height adjustment servo cutting head.

The principle of capacitance height adjustment is that the capacitance between two plates is formed between the capacitance sensing ring and the steel plate to be cut, and the capacitance size is related to the distance between them.
